Test Edit Configuration

Claims Connection includes the ability to test edits, allowing users to evaluate a claim using the modifications made in Edits. The Test Edits feature runs the claim against the current configurations of eMEDIX edits and provides a response indicating whether the edit is Accepted or Rejected. Importantly, testing edits will not change or log any messages against the claim.

Note: The Edit Tester is designed solely for eMEDIX edits and does not assess Compliance edits. Additionally, claims currently in HOLD status are not eligible for testing. When a claim is in HOLD the Test Edit Configuration button is not visible. HOLD is a temporarly claim status and claims are on hold for routing review and will be updated shortly.

To test an edit:

  1. Users can test edits on a selected claim by clicking the arrow next to the desired claim to expand the claim details, then clicking the Test Edit Configuration button.
  2. A pop-up window opens with the Edit Test Results, indicating the Response Status as Accepted or Rejected. The Response Message provides further details about the status. A Rejected response will show all failed edits for the claim.
  3. If there are no responses for a claim, the Test Edit Configuration button will not be displayed, and an information message will indicate no responses available.
  4. A record of the activity is added to the Claim Audit Logs under the Audits tab.
