eMEDIX Password Policy

The eMEDIX Password policy is as follows and displays as a tool tip on the Login page:

 

Users are able to reset passwords. This function requires users to have an email address set up in eMEDIX Online. Passwords are set to expire after sixty (60) days. After a password expires, the user is required to change it at the next attempt to login. The user cannot access eMEDIX until the password is changed.

 

There is a limit to the number of unsuccessful attempts to log in to eMEDIX Online. If a user exceeds this number, the account is locked and a message displays stating the account has been locked and to contact an administrator to unlock it. Please contact eMEDIX Support to unlock the account or wait for the lockout duration to complete before attempting to log in again. 

 

The number of attempts to log in is limited to the following: 

 

Maximum attempts before lockout: 3 times

Reset (length of time before failed attempts are forgotten): 1 hour

Lockout duration (length of time the user is locked out): 10 minutes

 

Note: Web Service users are not included in the eMEDIX Password Policy and do not need to be changed on a timed schedule. If the password is changed for a Web Service users, credentials must also be updated in the user's PM system.
