Claims Connection - Release Claim

The Release Claim option allows users to bypass edits and rejections when needed. Users can immediately transmit a claim to the payer regardless of any edits or rejections currently on the claim (this includes both eMEDIX and payer edits/rejections). By clicking Release Claim, the user acknowledges they want the claim to be sent immediately without saving any changes. If the user has made changes on any of the tabs and wishes to save them, please click Transmit instead of Release Claim.

To release a claim:

  1. Select the desired claim from the Workspace to display in the Claims Response screen. The Claim Status for this example is Rejected. Click Release Claim to override the edit(s) and resend the claim.

  2. A confirmation message displays indicating the user is responsible for overriding these edits. Any changes to the claim will be lost. Click OK to continue, or Cancel to exit. If you no longer wish to receive this message when overriding claims, mark the Do not show in the future check box. If changes were made on any of the tabs that should be saved, click Transmit instead of Release Claim.

  3. The Claim Status is now Retransmitted and the claim is locked for editing.

  4. A record is added to the Audit Log for the activity.
